Dylan Madurun is a young Indian-Australian emerging artist and musician with autism from Perth, Western Australia. He is an extraordinarily talented individual, exhibiting and selling many of his original artworks throughout his burgeoning career, as well as performing his energetic music live on stage numerous times for crowds of friends and fans alike. He is enamoured with colour, especially the
colour blue. In his own words, "blue beautiful, wonderful, spectacular!" His work stems from a deep love for creating and performing art and song in celebration of everything blue. Dylan's approach to art-making by drawing inspiration from the things he cherishes most culminates in works that are uniquely his own; bold, playful, and especially meaningful to him as reflections of his identity. In 2019, Dylan secured himself a Nexus Arts Grant for young artists with disability, empowering him to begin working with a professional arts mentor and further develop his creative arts practice. The following year, Dylan was the annual artist in residence for the Awesome International Arts Festival, with whom he debuted his first solo exhibition, Electric Blue, at the State Theatre of Western Australia. These successes led Dylan to his second solo exhibition the very next year, Blue Beautiful, at the Midland Junction Arts Centre. Soon after, Dylan was selected to showcase his talents again at Gallery Central as the artist in residence for Ability Centre's 70th Anniversary Celebratory Art Exhibition, 'A New Calibre'. Between these once in a lifetime opportunities, Dylan also participated in several group exhibitions, including Catapult One Exhibition, In Focus Exhibition, and the As We Are Art Awards and Exhibition. All of Dylan's fantastic experiences in the creative arts industry have led him to the next big step in his career, launching his very own official web store. Here Dylan has the opportunity to share his delightful artwork and merchandise, and you have the chance to get your hands on some! Dylan hopes to use the proceeds from his web store to someday buy himself his dream car, a blue Mini Cooper S Convertible, which he plans to add to his ever-expanding collection of blue treasures. Dylan continues to work towards this goal by painting art and playing music every week, honing his skills and techniques, and preparing for future exhibitions, concerts, and opportunities that come his way. Dylan currently attends DADAA several days a week where he is assisted in his artistic pursuits by a team of arts workers.
