🎭 BOOKINGS ARE NOW OPEN FOR PYGMALION 🎭

What if a simple change in the way you speak could change the way the world sees you?

Sharp, funny and surprisingly modern, Pygmalion is a story of ambition, transformation and challenging expectations. More than a century after it was written, Shaw's wit remains as fresh as ever, with characters who are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

Thats a Wrap !!!!

What a remarkable few weeks it has been.

As we come to the end of this year’s One-Act Season, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this collaboration such a success.

To the three participating theatre companies — the Irish Theatre Players, GRADS Theatre Company and Playlovers — thank you for embracing the spirit of collaboration, generosity and community that sat at the centre of this season from the very beginning.

To Stirling Theatre, thank you for working with us to accommodate this season within your programme and for supporting opportunities for independent theatre groups to access performance space through venue hire partnerships. Opportunities like this are incredibly important for the sustainability and growth of community theatre.

To our directors, casts, crew, stage managers, operators, set builders, volunteers and front of house teams — thank you for the extraordinary amount of work, care and passion that goes into bringing live theatre to life. Audiences see the final performance, but behind every moment on stage is an enormous amount of unseen dedication.

What has stood out most across this season has been the genuine sense of community spirit. The encouragement between clubs, the sharing of resources, the support backstage, the audiences turning up for all three companies — it reminded us exactly why community theatre matters.

As with any first-time collaboration of this scale, there have also been lessons learned along the way. We have learned more about what works, what could be improved, and how these partnerships can continue to grow stronger and more sustainable into the future. Most importantly, we have seen firsthand what can happen when theatre groups work together rather than apart.

And finally, to our audiences — thank you. Thank you for buying tickets, spreading the word, supporting local theatre and filling the venue with warmth, laughter, generosity and encouragement throughout the season. Community theatre only exists because communities choose to support it.

This may be the end of the 2026 One-Act Season, but it is certainly not the end of the story.

Onwards to 2027. 🎭

Review submitted by Tony Bray
We went on Friday 15th and thoroughly enjoyed this as one of the best 3 one-act seasons ever. The opening play by the ITP was The Yalta Game. This was a very authentic period piece and an example of live theatre at its best. The acting was superb. Peter Bruderlin as Russian banker Dmitri Gurov played the character with conviction. Playwright Brian Friel would have enjoyed this production. It was very professional, brilliantly directed moving us from scene to scene invisibly. Therese Cruise as Anna Sergeyevna waltzed in her role to her leading man. Costumes were excellent bringing the minimalist set real visual engagement. The story was delightful and noble perhaps exploring a fantasy we may all have had. The venue was excellent with great views and acoustics. If I were an adjudicator it would be hard to beat this for a top award. And if that was a hard act to follow the second play ‘Sure Thing’ was an example of creative brilliance. Again a two-hander, boy meets girl flirtation that explored dialogue resets where if an expressed thought isn’t received well you get a second and third chance. It was hilarious and Grads Theatre actors Amanda Cooley and Jason Dohle were on top of their game with rapid exchange ripostes sharply interrupted by the off stage sound operator. Being well rehearsed in dialogue allows the actors to exploit their characters and this energy ignites the audience as an interactive entertainment. I had my hand on the buzzer once I got into it. Get along to the theatre to see what I mean!
The final play ‘Drawing a Line’ performed by Playlovers Inc was a more conventional theatre presentation with a cast of 6. This was educational and tense as we participate in a prison art class for female inmates. I identified with teacher Nadia as she navigated the challenge of opening the students (and the audience) to the freedom of the art world. Trust, communication and identity were themes as the story lead us to an interesting conclusion. Alan Gill as the prison governor was our reference point as the responsible party who sets the standard. Sara Christiner as Sam was scarily unpredictable and gave the scene tension. Jackie Oates was lively and lovely but we learned a sadness in her character. Theatre can be a mirror to see ourselves and how we see others and interestingly this takes me back to ‘The Yalta Game’ as Dmitri draws Anna into his confidence by sharing his observations of people around them.
This novel combination of 3 different theatre clubs was a great innovation and for our party a great entertainment – so good that it prompted me to write this review. Your ticket includes complimentary sherry or port, digital programme and tea/coffee and cake at the interval with a convenient bar for wines, beers and soft drinks. Well done cast and directors!

Opening night is finally here!!!!!!!!

To everyone who has helped bring this season to life — our incredible casts, directors, backstage crews, lighting and sound operators, front of house volunteers, committee members, supporters, and everyone working quietly behind the scenes — thank you.

Community theatre only happens because people give their time, energy, creativity, and heart, and this season has been a true team effort from beginning to end.

To our audiences and patrons, thank you for continuing to support local theatre and the arts. Your support genuinely means the world to all of us.

We’re so proud to present Three Plays, One Night in collaboration with Irish Theatre Players, GRADS and Playlovers, and we cannot wait to welcome everyone through the doors tonight.

If you haven’t grabbed your tickets yet, there’s still time.
