✨ Art & Poetry EXHIBITION OPENING TODAY! ✨
I’m thrilled to share a very special piece featured in the Creative Connection exhibition, which opens TODAY at the beautiful Atwell House & Gallery Creative Connections 🎨✍️
This exhibition celebrates the magical intersection of visual art and the written word. My poem, "layers lift us," was written as an ekphrastic response, a literary dialogue, to stunning artwork created by the talented Trinity Williams, titled "Collage experiment #6".

When I looked at Trinity's artwork, I saw the beautiful, messy, profound ways we build our lives, our memories and our relationships. It inspired me to reflect on how the fragments of our past hold us together and make us who we are.

layers lift us

layers lift us like the
scraps of memory glued down
ticket stubs, faded boarding passes
pink rose petals
once pressed in a book
first photo we took
of two coffee cups
each layer lifts us
patch by patch
a palimpsest of promises
making us stronger than before
wrapping laughter with sunrise
our hearts holding hands
life is a collage and I, the artist
see scraps of light glued down
over, under
colours peeking through sun
the pieces of us
we chose to keep
is what we become.

Are you looking for a quiet, nourishing space to process, reflect, & meet yourself on the page? 📝✨🤍We begin with shared stillness, I offer gentle writing prompts & we dive into the page together. As we did last month we will write to the MIFWA prompts in preparation for the upcoming anthology. There is no critique, no performance, and no pressure - just open space for your presence and creativity.🌿

Not long now! 🚴‍♂️✨ ❤️✍️📚☕️Preparations are underway for our Poetry Circle on Lake Garda, Italy! 🇮🇹📖We will be gathering on 29 August at 10:30 am on the stunning, sun-kissed veranda of Hotel Acquadolche. Expect a morning filled with flowing verses, lakeside breezes & creative inspiration. 🌅✍️To add to the adventure, I will be cycling there from Venice! 🚴‍♂️💨 Would you like to join me for the ride, or simply meet us by the water for the poetry?🙏
