What a week!! As well as several reptile/face paint/balloon parties, I was thrilled that and Trinity College had me for another year for your incredible Sustain Our Swan week, teaching aaaall your fantastic year 7’s about the wonders of our wildlife and ecosystems!

If you had your photo holding a reptile “in the rainforest” with me at Nungarin’s brilliant event on Monday, you’re almost in the right place! I’ll lightly edit and post them to my sister page: Amy Wild Adventures - early next week!

Did I mention I love doing adult reptile parties?! I believe keeping our own inner child nourished is a huge part of correct adulting 😁😉 I absolutely adore providing all my services: extra nerdy and silly joke-filled reptile shows, top quality face painting, balloon twisting and more - to adults of similar mind! So far every one I’ve done, this last one included, have been extra delightful for myself as well as my fantastic audiences 😋

Here’s a little throwback to an extra remote fauna survey a few years ago. Santa lizard is the Vulnerable to Extinction Great Desert Skink. Having the opportunity to search for, trap and photograph this individual was an experience I’ll never forget, and hope to do again! Stay Wild!

It’s officially Silly Season! January is already booking up with reptile shows 🤯🎉 What better way to celebrate than with our very own Aussie bushland Christmas bauble - the Christmas Spider 🎄🕷️❤️ These harmless little beauties are mature and easy to spot through November to January, hence their name. And yes, now is also prime time for special spider cuddles 🙊😉 As per standard spider standards, females are big and flashy - while males are much smaller, with more muted colours and spines. Outside special time, male Christmas Spiders spend most of their days in bushes on the fringes of the big, female-filled webs - which are often communal!
