I've been reflecting on the current shifts in our property market, and it's clear that we're at a unique juncture. The recent interest rate cut by the Reserve Bank of Australia has opened doors for many, making it an opportune moment for the property shuffle.
In our local Perth market, we've observed increased activity with owners capitalising on equity in their properties: families who are upsizing, and many are considering downsizing to release their property's value. Like a chessboard shuffle, this dynamic creates openings and moves, allowing ease of transactions from one home to another. As an office, we have successfully transacted over 10 subject sale arrangements in 2025 for our clients.
Interestingly, despite the rate cuts, 95% of mortgage holders are maintaining higher repayment levels to reduce their loan balances faster. Additionally, there's been a notable 10% rise in first-time buyers entering the market.
