I’m coming home.

After making it to the Top 8 on Australian Idol, I’m back in Fremantle for a special homecoming show at Clancy's Fish Pub Fremantle to say thank you to everyone who supported and voted for me along the way.

This is my first show back since the show, and a chance to bring it all together live with the people who were part of the journey.

I’ll be there with my full band, playing a mix of soul, R&B and funk, including songs from Idol like “My Girl” and “Birds of a Feather”, plus original music and some favourites from artists like Stevie Wonder and Bruno Mars.

Limited capacity. One night only. Free tickets via Eventbrite.

Hi everyone, Chaz Meader and Martin Meader here 💛

It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since Dawn passed. We still feel her with us every day – in memories, in dreams, and in all the little moments she continues to guide.

We’re putting together a special exhibition to honour Dawn’s life and art – a celebration of the colour, warmth, humour, and heart she brought to Fremantle and to everyone who knew her.

The exhibition will run from January 10–26, 2026 at the Moores Building Art Space, with the opening night at 6pm on January 10.

We’ve spent months gathering her artworks – pieces from her studio, paintings tucked away for years, and beautiful works generously loaned by friends and collectors. Some have never been shown before.

This exhibition is fully self-funded by family and friends. There’s no gallery or council support – it’s simply the people who loved Dawn, coming together to keep her legacy alive.

If you’d like to help us bring this to life, we’ve set up a GoFundMe to support costs like venue hire, insurance, framing, transporting artworks, display construction, printing and setup. Every bit truly helps.

As a thank-you, donations over $20 will receive a small package of Dawn’s greeting cards and bookmarks, and we’ll include supporter names in the printed program.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us honour Dawn and share her light with the world
🧡
With gratitude,
Charlie & Martin Meader

Born To Sing choir director
2026 WA Senior Australian of the Year Nominee
Martin Meader uses the power of music to unite diverse communities and combat social isolation. His journey began with the 1997 film Paradise Road, which starred Cate Blanchett and Glenn Close. The film told the story of female prisoners of war using song to sustain hope. Inspired by this experience, he founded a choir to promote connection and healing.

For over 25 years, Martin has led weekly rehearsals for Born To Sing community choirs, teaching lively, inclusive songs where everyone is welcome. His work has raised more than $250,000 for bushfire survivors, cancer patients, and children. In 2023, he launched the Born To Sing 1,000 concert, uniting 1,000 community singers for a sold-out show at Perth Concert Hall.

Through singing, Martin has built stronger communities, helped new Australians make friends, and boosted individual confidence and well-being. His work demonstrates that music is a powerful tool for hope, unity, and positive change.
