A departure from my usual style and I’m loving it!
Warning, essay ahead … 😝
I’ve come to realise in the past few months that different art styles and directions can reflect different stages of life. (An epiphany to me, perhaps common knowledge in the art world 🤣)! Hear me out…
My art style started with gentle earthy tones, soothing colour palettes, and repetitive patterns. At that time of my life I had taken a couple of years off work to recover from burnout. My painting style at that time reflected what I needed, to be soothed, to be still, to not think too much.
AND NOW … 🎉
I’m fully recovered, I’ve done a load of self discovery, I am in a job I love, my kiddies are at an awesome age where we are having so much fun in our family. Things have become brighter!!! My style has adapted to embrace this stage of life and is adding to my sense of joy ☺️
I do still LOVE earthy tones and I’m thinking of ways to use both, but for now, my painting style reflects how I’m feeling!
Love to know your thoughts on this pivot, are you here for it?! Please vote!
