I found this amazing German Fabre Castell soft chalk pastel set on the buy n sell with 75 colours in a wood case and mostly unused. It belonged to the seller’s grandmother who was a hobby artist. I promised to cherish the set and send her a pictured I’d completed with it. Looking forward to getting started. It has been quite a while since I’ve used chalk pastel but used them a lot as a teen.

This is a painting I completed 14 years ago. It is a fav and one I’ve not sold. I took the photo while snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef with Pierre and his brother Michael. I used to swim with an underwater camera. The turtle popped up next to us startling me. It floated for a bit and then dove. Amazing experience.

On Dec 7-8 I had opportunity to attend a Leon Holmes oil painting plein air workshop weekend. The location was fairbridge and proved to be a challenge. When I’ve completed the 2 pieces started in the workshop, I will post them. I learned a lot of practical tips and had opportunity to round out my tool kit for oil painting. I’ve recent joined the Mandurah plein air group so stay tuned for more art!!
