Rooby Roo - Paint Penrith REaD Rooby Roo is the Mascot for Paint Penrith REaD program. She loves to read and sing everyday with her friends and family. Rooby's favourite dance is hip-hop.

Rooby was born under the home tree - a big shady paperback. Rooby loves sleeping under the home tree at night and listening to stories told by her mum, dad, aunties and uncles about when they were growing up on the land. Their stories took Rooby to places she never could have imagined and how different things were when her mum, dad, aunties and uncles were joeys. The home tree is where all of Roob

y's friends live. Rooby has plenty of friends , Parkes Bug, Poppy Possum , the Wild Thing, Aussie, Red Sea, Billy Booksie , Rivo the reading bug , Eddie Echidna and the big red book just to name a few. Rooby loves sharing the stories that her elders told her to you and me. Her mum and dad read to her every day to help her brain grow so she is ready to learn at big school. Going to Kangaroo school is one of Rooby's favourite things to do. At school she is always reading or listening to stories, signing, rhyming, and dancing. She loves hip hopping all day long. Rooby loves to meet all the boys and girls in Penrith. She loves when they read books and sing everyday it makes her so happy. She knows that if you keep reading, sharing stories, rhyming and singing that you will be ready for big school soon. She carries all her favourite books in her pouch. She visits local libraries every week so she can find new books all the time. She loves taking them back to the home tree at the end of the day, sitting under the branches and reading with her friends. When Rooby grows up she wants be famous just like her big sister who is on all the Qantas airplanes. That's why she loves reading, singing, listening and going to school.

The Anytime Library hosts 352 book and DVD items available for borrowing by Penrith City Libraries’ members during the HomeCo Glenmore Park Town Centre opening hours.

📍The Anytime Library is located in the Aldi/Coles section of HomeCo Glenmore Park Town Centre on the first floor next to the lift and chemist at 1 Town Terrace, Glenmore Park.

Items borrowed from the Anytime Library can be returned to the Anytime Library.

Kids and teenagers aged 0 to 18 years old are invited to participate in Penrith City Libraries' summer reading challenge!

All you have to do is:

- Borrow great titles from any one of our branches or find e-books in our eLibrary 📖

- Record your reads on the log sheet 📝

- Submit your completed log sheet to any branch by Saturday 31 January for a chance to win great prizes!

We have 3 categories: preschool, primary and secondary.
