Has your child ever mentioned that they’d love to try acting? Or perhaps they’re already showing an interest in acting, musical theatre, drama at school or performing on screen?
The incredible Anna Lee is running a 5-Week Acting & Screen Intensive here at Excite, designed for young performers aged 16 - 18 years.
Anna also teaches at Screenwise Film and Television School, working with students across their full-time and short-course programs, and this workshop gives young performers the opportunity to explore acting in a practical, hands-on environment with an experienced Actor and Educator.
Students will work on things such as:
- Script work
- Character development
- Screen acting
- Film & playback
- Voice & expression
- Improvisation & spontaneity
- Performance confidence
For our musical theatre students, these skills can also be incredibly valuable. Strong acting helps bring songs and characters to life, allowing performers to connect more authentically with the story, make stronger character choices and communicate emotion rather than simply focusing on the choreography or vocals.
The workshop is also a great fit for students studying Drama at school, preparing for HSC Drama, considering further acting training, or simply wanting to explore whether acting is something they’d like to pursue.
