Evolving since 1991, our 2015 UNESCO Award winning Festival will celebrate its 30th year in 2022. The Festival has grown to become ”one of South Australia’s leading arts festivals,” said Mrs Helen Rice, Adelaide United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Chairperson. Our Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival was one of four recipients honoured by UNESCO, Adelaide Chapter ‘for an outstanding contribution to the regional cultural life of South Australia, promoting all facets of the Arts, and cultural tourism.’
In 2013 our Festival was awarded an South Australian Regional Award, from Brand South Australia. This award highlights individuals or organisations that have made significant contribution to their region and the State over a twelve month period.
