🏁 Meet the Boss 🏁 BD10 - owned by Trent Wilson 🏁 Trent Robert Wilson

•Nickname: Trenta

During the off season and between the race meets, Trent funds his racing as a welder, he also has a long history as commercial fisherman and travels up to NSW when the fishing is good.

Trent’s Dad Craig was a racer back in the day, bringing a young Trent along for the shows and giving him the racing bug while his friend Trevor Greenwood wheeled Craig’s car, Craig’s mate and fellow driver Meersy also helped fuel the fire by giving Trent his first race car and helping him finesse his craft on the track and in the pits

Trent’s favourite classes are the powerhouse Late Models V8 Dirt Modified, both unique looking classes full of power and noise.

Trent has been lucky enough to race on his favourite track in Mount Gambier, South Australia. Even claiming South Australia 3 in Limited Sportsman, hopefully the Divi 2 class may get to make an appearance there in the future.

Trent’s fave drivers are Trevor Greenwood, Mick Kiraly and Garry Severs, both highly successful and respected legends in their classes, with clean racing skills and respect in the pits and on the track.

Trent is the man that established Trent Wilson Racing Fabrication & Suspension, his rolls are limitless in the team as driver, pit crew, manager and fabricator, helping the rest of the team get the cars fixed, ready, rebuilt and motivated.

Away from speedway, Trent loves spending quality time with his 3 kiddos, cruising around on the water and in the shed with my mates slinging spanners, where good food, good company, ample tunes and a few bevvies are staple.

Trent is now into his 18th year racing, currently in the Division II Hot Rods, and formerly in Limited Sportsman, Wingless Sprint Cars and Standard Saloons. We hope to see many more years of racing and maybe even a couple more classes to add to the resume 🏁

🏁 Meet a Driver 🏁 RD10 🏁 Chris Greaves

•Nickname: Greavesy

•When Greavesy isn’t in the shed supervising the boys or slinging the clay out on the track, he’s busy on the brushes making the local businesses and houses pop with fresh colours as a qualified painter.

•Greavesy got introduced into all things racing by being asked to help out Kate and Russell Stuchbery with getting their troops to the tracks, eventually getting himself into the hot seat, and now he’s travelling all over for his own racing.

•Sprint Cars are always a class that Greavesy loves to watch, whether it’s the LS/360 or the roaring 410’s, we all enjoy the things with wings.

• If given the chance, Chris would happily wheel a Divi 2 around the ring at Avalon (wouldn’t we all 😉)

• Fellow Divi 2 drivers Trent Wilson and Jordan Haley are some of Chris’s most respected, with skills and knowledge that expands into the pits, they are always helping and supporting.

• Greavesy has been a driver Driver/mechanic/crew for himself, others and the team for years now, with no sign of retiring any time soon.

•Away from speedway, you can find Greavesy BCF-ing and hunting, or in the shed working with the boys on the car.

🏁 Meet a Driver 🏁 RD52 - owned by Matthew Parsons 🏁 Matty Matty 🏁

•Nickname: Matty

• When not suited up to hit the track or in the shed fine tuning the race cars, Matty can be seen in his second natural habitat as a Powder Coater/Preparer

• Matty got into all things speedway thanks to his dad and uncle who use to race back in the day, and he has mates who race which got him into the sport of speedway and racing dirt karts.

• Matty’s favourite classes (because we can never really have just one) are Sprint Cars, Street Stocks & Divi II Hot Rods.

• Matty has a few fave tracks that we’re sure he’ll be keen to race on, Redline, Alexandra & Nyora.

•The favourite driver for Matty is Trent Wilson, because he is a fast & competitive driver, very knowledgeable and always willing to help others.

• Matty will be gearing up to race the RD52 rocket this season, and helping sling spanners where needed.

• When Matty isn’t at work or roaring around the track, he spend his time working in the shed on cars and race cars, spending time with his kids getting out and about and just enjoying life.

Matty has been a valuable pit crew for Trent, who is also family, in the past back when he was racing in the Limited Sportsman class, we are proud to welcome him to the TWR Team and looking forward to seeing his debut season in Divi II Hot Rods.

Look out for his car travelling anywhere between East Gippsland to Werribee and in between.

🏁 Meet a Driver 🏁 RD51 - owned by Steve Overton🏁 Shannon Overton 🏁

Today’s spotlight is on one of our crew turned driver.

•Nickname: Shaz

•When not in the shed slinging tools, Shannon earns his crust as a tyre fitter, these skills come in hand when getting ready to go racing.

• Shannon got introduced into the wide world of speedway by his dad Steve, nothing beats family time track side.

•When the chance arises, Shannon’s favourite class to watch is the Modified Production Sedans.

• As evident by the car prefix, the fave track of this new racer is Rosedale Speedway.

•Shannon’s all time favourite driver (and inspiration) is his dad Steve, his goal is to do him proud.

•Away from speedway and work, Shannon spends a good amount of his time working on his car and helping work on the other cars in the TWR shed with some good tunes and a cold bevvi or 2.

Shannon has been a highly valued pit crew for Trent & Chris for the last 2 seasons and we’re looking forward to finally seeing him in the hot seat. Good luck Shannon from all the drivers and crew at TWR.

As we start to gear up for the 2026/2027 race season, we figured we should put a spotlight on our crew, cars and drivers, who are all the heart and soul behind Trent Wilson Racing & Fabrication.

We are excited to share who we are, what we do and what we enjoy at the track and beyond.

With 5 cars on the track this season under our banner, we’re excited to see what the team can achieve.

We’ve had a pretty awesome season here at Trent Wilson Racing & Fabrication. A season that has been full of the highs and lows that speedway provides.
Between building and rebuilding cars, late nights gets in the shed with the mates and crew fixing race damage, tweaking engines to push them that little bit harder or to be able to get back out there at the next event.
But absolutely none of this is possible without the continuous support that our sponsors provide, so we want to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate them, because they’re the ones that help keep the wheels spinning.

Alrighty folks, Aaron, Trent and Kate are working hard behind the scenes as it’s now full steam ahead for ‘your’ new state series.

This series is very much by the drivers, for the drivers.

Can competitors get the ball rolling for yourselves by ‘sharing’ this post and ‘tagging’ in to the post any business owners you know are passionate about your class, looking for a new way to share their business name around and get marketising opportunities they currently do not have, that business owner could be you. If you want to secure support of naming rights for one of the seven rounds, be first to act. Don’t wait.

Negotiate - The series has a figure in mind if you are low, Kate will tell you, once there is an agreement on numbers, you just have to negotiate how you can make it for you.
