Did you hear us on Friday night at St Patrick's Cathedral in Parramatta?

We had a great time sharing a varied and rich program featuring works by contemporary composers including Alice Chance, Joseph Romeo and First Nation's composer Nicole Smede as well as Brahms, Lizst and of course Fauré's Requiem.

Thank you to our soloists Benjamin Caukwell - Baritone, Ayako Ohtake - Soprano and Simon Niemiński on organ.

And special thanks to our conductor Dr Philip Eames and assistant conductor Oscar Balle-Bowness who shaped and created a sublime program.

It was an absolute pleasure to share it all with such a warm and receptive audience - thank you to everyone who attended and stay tuned for all the news of our upcoming concerts and events in 2026 and beyond!

Here’s a snippet of our Fauré Requiem dress rehearsal with the choir singing J.S. Bach's 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring' conducted by Dr Philip Eames.

There are still a few tickets available and a limited number on the door.

⭐Along with Gabriel Fauré’s timeless masterpiece, this moving concert will also feature complementary choral works by Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt, First Nations composer Nicole Smede, and Australian composers Alice Chance and Joseph Romeo.

Internationally acclaimed organist Simon Niemiński will be commanding the magnificent St Patrick's Cathedral organ. Simon has performed and broadcast worldwide, from BBC Radio and Pipedreams USA to major venues including York Minster, Notre-Dame Paris and St Mary’s Cathedral Sydney, where he is Assistant Director of Music.

We are delighted to be under the direction of guest conductor, Dr Philip Eames who has been at the podium making sure we are in tip top shape! The diverse and prolific Dr Eames is one of Sydney’s most in-demand choral conductors as well as an accomplished pianist, composer and researcher.

🎼 Meet Australian composer Joseph Romeo! His composition, The Lord’s Prayer (ed. 2025), will be performed by River City Voices as part of our Fauré Requiem concert.

Joseph's work spans contemporary classical, choral and liturgical music. Blending emotional warmth with a modern sensibility, his music brings fresh life to sacred traditions through meditative textures, atmospheric soundscapes and expressive vocal writing.

Alongside his artistic career, Romeo is also a practising medical doctor — a dual path that informs the humanity, care and connection at the heart of his work. His compositions continue to gain recognition through performances, recordings and commissions across Australia.
