We love it when our own spread their wings and in this episode of "The Art Of Making Art" you will see many friends of Pursued By Bear pop up. This documentary series is presented by the wonderful team at Watch This to shed light on the designers that make the theatre industry full love, colour, movement and story. Goodness gracious they have done a mountain of work to showcase these designers and what a legacy to have these stories for people to see from now on out.

We spent the night on a zoom chat with this lot with the Green Room Awards playing in the background so you know what we count it as a big win. Congrats to all in the running this year and thank you for the excuse to do chaotic mass video calls with our friends.

We’ll never forget the day we got our first Green Room Award nomination. This little company that could, this ambitious pipe dream. It didn’t seem real. How could this self-funded endeavour in our two weeks of a 150 seat black box possibly be nominated against Matilda?! But ...tick...tick....BOOM was up for Production and Director (Paul Watson). Then the next year, another two noms - Director (Tyran Parke) and Lead Performer (Joel Granger) - and as we sat in the Comedy still pinching ourselves and drinking a lot of bubbly because oh come on we weren’t going to win against Aladdin, Ordinary Days flashed up on the screen as tying for Director. And now here we are, FIVE nominations for Bright Star this year. Can we call this a sweep? Because we’re going to... ⁣

But in all sincerity, we are so thrilled for this magical group that made this show and as always so grateful to be able to do this with the support of our PBB-fam and our community. It’s something real special. So thank you.⁣

We all know how easy it is to feel helpless at times like these. Which is why we are so happy to be involved in the fundraising night of music, theatre and community put together by Artefact Theatre Co. This Monday night at Forty Five Downstairs, some of our Bright Star family will be reuniting to sing a song and raise money for the relief fund for First Nations communities and Wildlife Victoria. Come along!
