At Ignite, we proudly have an open-door policy for our preschool classes.
Walking into a new space, with new faces, can be overwhelming - and that’s okay!
If a child is nervous, unsettled or upset, a parent or caregiver is welcomed into the room, not forced to leave.
This might look like sitting right beside them at first, and we work with parents to gradually move further away, eventually transitioning to a happy, calm drop off at the door each week.
Why do we do this? Because children develop confidence and independence through secure attachment and emotional safety. When a child feels supported, seen, and safe, they are far more likely to explore, engage and build REAL confidence - not just forced independence, but the kind that lasts
