HOW TO APPLY FOR PERFORMANCE SPOTS IN SDCC OPEN MIC SHOWS
We’re currently running a few shows with 5min Open Mic spots available in the lineups. Spots in these shows are booked two (2) weeks in advance via an online application process. The Registration Form for performance spots in these shows goes live on our SDCC Brisbane Open Mic page every Monday and closes every Wednesday ( = 48hr
application window). PLEASE NOTE: We like to make everyone aware of the reality of our program and the process involved, so it’s best to tell you now that getting a spot on an SDCC lineup is incredibly competitive. Pre-COVID, SDCC’s Open Mic program was the largest Open Mic circuit in Australia and as such, there are many, many folks applying for a spot in one of our shows – in March 2020, we had 400+ people registered in the program, with over half of these people contacting us each and every week looking for stage time. Add COVID into the mix, where the opportunity for stage time has significantly decreased/essentially disappeared, and it’s become even harder to book consistent stage time. We don’t say this to discourage you from entering the fray, we say it to manage your expectations about the challenges that currently exist for stage time in South-East Queensland. That being said, you are absolutely more than welcome to throw your hat in the ring – keep an eye on the SDCC Brisbane Open Mic page for the release of the registration form to submit your details – good luck!
