IEG (Insider Entertainment Group) in partnership with ABS-CBN Music and Star Music is holding STARMAKER INTERNATIONAL, a global quest to discover the most gifted Filipino performers all over the world.

One of our local talents here in Perth have been successfully selected to become an official competitor in the upcoming live performance in Los Angeles, California this July.

We would like to reach out to everyone in supporting our very own Perth young talent, Beverlin Ybañez. Also known as BEV, registered nurse during the day with a heart for helping patients in need, and also a passionate performer who sings and dance off duty. WATCH HER PERFORM live and support her music journey on July 7, 2024.

On my second night of my first 3 consecutive gigs, amidst the strains of a song, my voice betrayed the fatigue I felt, cracking in a way it never had before. Despite the physical toll, of personal loss, sleepless nights, work, volleyball, and late-night commitments in those 3 days, the mishap was more of an uplifting moment for me. Rather than feeling embarrassed or the urge to flee, I signalled to my friend in the audience, affirming that I was alright. I continued performing, indifferent to whether the audience noticed my imperfection, embracing the authenticity and humanity of live performance—with all its flaws and vulnerabilities.

This moment, with all its raw honesty, turned out to be my happiest, a testament to the power of pushing through challenges and emerging stronger on the other side. I am just glad to see and feel that all the work I’ve put on myself is working.
