‘40 Years 40 Works’ is on now in the Sisley Gallery with 40 works from the Gallery’s Collection selected by our community.
On display for the first time in ten years is Frank Hinder’s ‘Barongarook (Running Water)’ which he made in 1967 and donated to the Gallery in 1986. Described as a ‘luminal kinetic’, this work consists of hand cut mechanical moving shapes, coloured film and lights arranged behind a diffusion screen to create a soft, mesmerising display reminiscent of light on pooling water.
Selected for the exhibition by local artist David Serisier who also selected the work to respond to for our 30th anniversary exhibition, ‘Call + Response’.
Visit the Gallery to discover more works from the Collection and read the personal stories behind their selection.
‘40 years, 40 works’ continues until 15 November 2026.
