The Malachi Gilmore Hall features as a quiz question on Art Deco and Modernism Society of Australia inc., Melbourne, Australia as part of World Art Deco Day 28 April. How delightful.

Happy World Art Deco Day

Celebrated every year on the 28th April to mark the anniversary of the opening of the landmark Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris in 1925.

We're marking the occasion with this picture of one of our lesser-known but favourite little Australian Deco gems from 1937. Gold Star if you can tell us what it is - stay tuned for the answer tomorrow.

Let us know what your favourite Australian Art Deco building is and we'll feature the best.

“Chopin’s Last Tour” is play set in Scotland, 1848, the year before Chopin's death.
It is the story of his life through his feelings and music, (live piano during the show). It answers the questions, “What was this man, who wrote such wonderful music, really like? What were his circumstances, what influenced him and who did he mix with?”
Phil Aughey's one man production has been performed, with success and rave reviews in Edinburgh, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Avignon, London, Tallinn, New Zealand and others.
Also a film screening of the 2022 documentary "Chopin - I am Not Afraid of the Darkness" follows the play.
