Victoria Junior Ice Hockey League (VJIHL) Summer 25-26
Congratulations to our Peewee teams, the Baby Ruths and the Butter Fingers, on an awesome Grand Final. The Baby Ruths came away with the gold, but both teams should be incredibly proud of the way they competed, supported each other, and represented what this league is all about in our very first season.
And congratulations to our Bantam teams as well — the Baby Ruths and the Butter Fingers put on an unbelievable battle that was truly worthy of a Finals game. It was competitive, intense, and hard fought right until the end. The Baby Ruths took home the gold, but both teams showed great character, teamwork, and respect for the game. That’s exactly the standard we want VJIHL hockey to represent.
What’s been most special about this first VJIHL season has been watching these players grow. Watching confidence build, friendships form, and seeing kids walk into the rink nervous at the start of the season and now walk in feeling like they belong. But also watching them learn how to compete. Watching them battle for pucks, push themselves, support their teammates, and challenge each other every single week while still respecting the game. That’s what this league is all about. Giving players a place where they feel supported, challenged, and excited to keep coming back every week because they love the game and love competing together.
And Olympic Ice Skating Centre, this is our rink, and it’s the home of VJIHL. We’re lucky to have it. We respect it, we appreciate it, and it means a lot to all of us to call it home.
To every player, be proud. Not just today, but the whole season.
