Khyké (pronounced kh-ee-kay) , a Susu word from Guinea, West Africa meaning “radiant” or “moon” lives up to its name in every sense. Thanks to Sammy and Ben, this workshop is a cultural immersion wrapped in colour, storytelling, and creative joy.
From the moment you arrive, there is a warmth that feels intentional and deeply rooted. Over two unhurried hours, you are gently guided into the world of West African artistry, with traditional music and song, history and identity woven together. The hand-dyed Lepi fabric, symbolic of graduating to adulthood, and the bold wax prints of Ankara fabrics are breathtaking, each pattern carrying a rhythm and presence of its own. Choosing your colours, shapes, and charms for your earrings becomes an act of self-expression illuminated by tradition.

🌿 Our First Khyké Earrings Workshop at Adelaide Fringe and it was beautiful! 🌿

On Sunday we hosted our very first Khyké Earrings Workshop at the Adelaide Fringe… and it was honestly so special ✨

There’s something powerful about sitting together, folding fabric, wrapping each piece by hand, and watching everyone’s unique creations come to life.

I’m so proud of what this workshop is becoming. Thank you to everyone who came along, trusted the process, and created with us 💛
