What a way to spend a Saturday. DEAN TURNLEY played Northcote Theatre twice on 6 June — a day set and a night set, both sold out, both packed.

Melbourne's own, home off the back of Pitch and a big year for Actin' Tough. House and techno with its feet in Detroit and Chicago, built for the floor and played like it.

JUST ANNOUNCED 📣 yama | Friday 16 October 2026

Japanese pop artist yama brings their inaugural Australian tour to Northcote — a debut over half a decade in the making.

Known for an ethereal voice, emotionally nuanced performances and a deliberately low-profile presence, yama has built a global young fanbase since their 2020 debut 'Haru wo Tsugeru', with hits including 'Magical Syndrome' and 'Shikisai (color)' — the ending theme for SPY×FAMILY.

A 2025 Asia tour took yama through Seoul, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Singapore and Hong Kong to around 7,000 fans across the run. The concept EP C.U.T arrives in March 2026, with the Uka tour kicking off in Japan before yama heads here.

After Carl Cox's Saturday 17 October techno set sold out in record time, a second night has been added — and it's a different show entirely.

HOT SAUCE is the sister brand to Carl and Eric Powell's Mobile Disco parties: disco, funk, soul, house and rare groove, built around an inclusive dancefloor and a sound that sits outside the typical club night. Sunday is a daytime-into-evening party at Northcote, with the pair digging into the records that shaped Carl's career across decades.

With UK collective Discoliscious — Jemma Bolt and Carly Foxx — joining for the Melbourne edition.

One weekend, two parties, two sides of Carl Cox.

Monte Loco Rides Again. Melbourne Ska Orchestra land at Northcote with the super deluxe edition of The Ballad of Monte Loco, joined by Out Of Control Army on their first ever Australian appearance.

In 2024, OCA brought MSO to Mexico City for a feature show at the legendary Teatro Metropólitan. Now the favour comes home. Two international ska powerhouses, one stage, one night.
