🏆 Legend Awards – A Word with Gigi! 🏆

💖 If you could whisper one golden nugget of advice to a rising star, what would it be?

Quality over quantity!! I was very much guilty of this in my early days but over producing acts is super unsustainable not only for the environment but for your creative energy. Also your house will soon succumb to all of your random burlesque bits and bobs to the point where you start drowning in gloves and garters and as much as that may sound fun it is definitely not.

💖 What’s a moment in burlesque history (local or global) that still gives you goosebumps?

Getting to watch our WA legends Matthew Pope and Lucy Lovegun absolutely slay it on the worlds most prestigious Burlesque stage at BHOF was a pretty special moment to watch. It really reminded me that we are surrounded by the best of the best here in WA.

💖 Who is a burlesque icon (past or present) you’d love to share a stage or a cocktail with?

On a real note I am very inspired by Moscato Sky so it would be epic to share a stage with them!!

Two parts grungy rat boy and one part Disney princess, Winter Greene is the sparkly androgynous draglesque creature who crawled right out of the gutter into your heart.

Self de-pantsing on burlesque and drag stages since 2018, some of Winter’s snazziest highlights include performing regularly for Bonez Q***r Party across Australia, and winning the title of Mx Burlesque Melbourne, 2023.

As deemed by the people, Winter Greene is:

Mae B Wilde burst onto the burlesque scene in 2023 in a flurry of energy and has been popping up all around Melbourne since. From The Burlesque Showboat to The Motley Bauhaus and back, she's been connecting with audiences and stripping down at every opportunity, making it to the finals of both the Victorian Apprentease and Naarm Altimate Showdown competitions in 2024.

Mae puts the bust in bustling, the erotic in neurotic, and the cheese in 'she's really going to do that?', bringing to the stage a contempt for convention topped with a wink and a smile.
