ARTVINE: APAX Early Bird Registrations

Registrations for the Australian Performing Arts Exchange (APAX) 2026 are now open.

APAX is the national market and professional development gathering for performing
arts workers across Australia.
It is the performing arts sector's time each year to reconnect, recalibrate, challenge assumptions, build relationships and take steps to move forward. APAX brings together artists, presenters, producers, marketers, technicians, programmers and more to stop working in isolation and make the sector seen and heard.

Now is the time to invest. In your practice, in your team, in yourself, and in the future
strength of live performance.

APAX sold out in 2025 so register early and access our early bird rates
(closing Friday 31 July).

Stronger culture comes from broader participation, maintain and build your connections, your practice and the future direction of the sector.

In some youth detention centres, almost every child inside is Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Behind every statistic is a young person, a family, a community, and a story.

BULLYMEN & ME is a major new national theatre project that will gather testimonies from First Peoples young people and families across Australia, creating a powerful cultural record of this moment in history.

We're raising $40,000 to support First Peoples artists to return to Country and gather these stories directly from community.

Help us ensure these voices are heard.

Leading this new season of Gunawarra Re-Creation is award-winning Artistic Director Andrea James, a proud Yorta Yorta/Gunaikurnai woman, marking her directorial debut with ILBIJERRI Theatre Company.

In one month, Gunawarra Re-Creation returns to Southbank Theatre as part of NAIDOC week.

Set on Taun Wurrung country, this contemporary play is grounded in an uninterrupted ancestral storyline, expressed through memory, song and dance where past and present collide.

In this powerful story of culture, memory and healing, Murrun returns to the watering hole; the same one her Aunty Aggie used to take her to. The sacred one. There, past and present collide. She meets her old friend Gunawarra. The Black Swan.
