G'day folks!

This week, I finally got around to playing a game of Stargrave, and testing my AI rules. The game is actually very fun, and has a decent pace too.

A 'standard' battle is between two to four players trying to capture and secure loot across the board. My first test battle was between my War Pigs and the Crimpson Guard. I'm also testing how to go about doing a 'battle report', so let me know how I did.

Let me know what you think!

G'day folks!

Been a while, but I wanted to share a new passion of mine.

Gundam.

God damn, are gundam fun to build. More to the point, they can be used for wargames if you're creative about it. Who doesn't love a mech in their science fiction wargame?

The best part is that they are cheap. Like, stupid cheap. None of these cost more than $40 AUD and they can be posed any way you want to. Since they are coloured plastic, you can just use them as is, but I plan on painting all of them.

Let me know what you think!

G'day folks!

Sorry for the lack of posts. Just had stocktake at work, so I've been pretty wrapped up in that. Finally finished my Crimpson Guard troopers. Now I just have to finish a last power armoured trooper, and I'm all set.

To explain a little bit, Stargrave is supposed to be a two player game. However, I have a plan to make the game a single player game. I read about a game that used preprogrammed actions to decide what each model will do. The plan would be to create a list of things each enemy type will do. For instance a 'Tactical' enemy will advance to the nearest objective until they come into line of sight of an enemy. Then they will take cover and start firing at the nearest target until unable to do so. Meanwhile an 'Agressive' enemy type will activly seek out an eneny and continue to persue then until they are killed. With this, I hope to remove the bias I would otherwise feel for one side or the other (who doesn't want their current favourite army to win?). I would like to have cards with each enemy type on it. I would also like to create a chart to roll on to decide who will show up to the battle, adding a bit of variety to the fights.

Anyway, let me know what you think!

G'day folks!

And that's the last crew member for my Stargrave crew. Up next, I'll focus a bit more on the opposing forces the crew will need to face. Once thats done, I'll focus on explaining the game and the changes I have made to make it work as a single player game.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

G'day folks,

Got a couple more models done this week.

The guy in power armor is my second in command for my Stargrave crew as well as my heavy weapons specialist. He's supposed to be an aussie (reping the homeland), so I gave him an aussie flag and a can if fosters. Originally, the camo pattern was going to be auscam, but after a couple of failed attempts, I changed it to something different to spare my sanity. The aussie flag was also originally going to be the eureka flag, but that too proved extremely frustrating to paint.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

G'day folks!

Got a couple of models done this week. The purple mutant was a lot of fun to paint. I think I got him free in a bulk purchase of 3D printed minis ages ago, and I never had an excuse to paint him.

Now I do. He's going to be one of the leaders of one of the many factions facing off against my Stargrave crew. Behold: The great and mighty Kevin, captain in the army of King Freaks Mutant Nation. More on that later.

I added a clear, gloss varnish on his budgy smugglers because the idea of them being made of latex made it all the funnier to me.

Anyway, let me know what you think.
