Deborah Westbrook has been a teacher and art instructor for over 30 years. Born in regional Queensland her passion for art developed at an early age when her parents encouraged her development sending her to after school art classes where she learnt purist techniques of watercolours. Dabbling part time when holidays allowed, her time has been consumed by work, directing musicals, raising a family
and supporting her husband. The elusive dream of becoming an artist seemed too idealistic to ever become a reality. Over the years her passion for drawing and painting has increased, and discovering the joys of pastel and recently, botanical art has ignited that passion further. With a thirst for knowledge, she has read everything she could to improve her skills. She works in various mediums from graphite to watercolour and pastel. She takes her inspiration from the world around her, its beautiful people, places and nature. "Detailed work and colour which reflect a master designer resonate with me and my values.
