“Apple Postcard”, Oil on Board. One lovely thing about painting is that working on a painting helps make a lovely moment linger! As you work, you meditate and percolate on the memories that the image provokes. Apples are in my heritage as my Mums family were Irish apple growers from way back. I always see apples as a symbolic link to that ancestry. And just a tip, forget supermarket apples- what a fraud! You need to eat them fresh picked, and where possible, straight from the tree! As were these lovely specimens in NZ.

In my first sleep I came to the river. And looked down through the clear water - only in a dream. Water so pure, laced and undulant. Lines of flow on its rocky bed. Also fresh of the easel “Curious and Curiouser”, Watercolour on Arches. Can you see it hiding in there? This little robin was as curious about me as I was about him…he was still enough for me to take a picture, and he needed to be painted.
