The Limelight is Hobart’s only choir that’s dedicated to singing ensemble numbers from musicals.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 30 @ 7:30 PM IN THE LONG GALLERY (SALAMANCA ARTS CENTRE)

Come cheer on Amped, Pitches Be Crazy and The Limelight Musical Choir as we perform all the songs we've been working on for the last 6 months (we live for the applause applause, applause...).

Special guest rock stars Echo Syndrome will also be joining us as the “house band” for the night!

This event will be "cabaret" stylz, so you will be seated at a table and able to visit the bar and talk quietly/respectfully between yourselves throughout the performances. All profits from this concert will be donated to Huntingtons Disease Tasmania - plus we’ll be holding a raffle to boost that donation a little more :)

*** CALLING ALL WHO LOVE TO BELT OUT HIT MUSICAL ENSEMBLE NUMBERS ***

For any of you who crave to a be part of the goosebump inducing sound musical theatre ensembles create but don’t have the time to dedicate to joining a musical theatre company (or a company in your region), a brand new, “workshop style”, non auditioned, social singing community group that has been established in clearly for you!

Think Hamilton, Come From Away, Kinky Boots, Rent, Wicked, Hairspray… So many great ensemble songs!

The Limelight Musical Choir is a series of workshops being held at Hobart Baptist Church over 3 Saturdays (one per month in Sep, Oct & Nov) with an optional performance opportunity on the evening of Saturday, December 9.

Whether you’re a Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Alto, Mezzo or Soprano or even have no idea what type of voice you have - this group has a place for you!

During each workshop you will spend the day learning & refining ensemble numbers from popular musicals (think Broadway, The West End, musical movies & tv shows) in a fun, welcoming & social environment.

You will then have the opportunity to perform these at the Amped & Pitches Be Crazy End of Year Showcase on the evening of December 9 if you wish (completely optional).

On each Saturday there will be a lunch break from Noon til 2 pm which you are encouraged to use getting to know your fellow show-tuners better (there are a variety of lunch spots around our venue to cater for all tastes)!

Registration Fees for this workshop series are $200.

The Limelight Musical Choir is Hobart’s only non auditioned, social singing group established for those who don’t have the time to join a musical theatre company but crave to be part of the goosebump inducing sound that musical ensembles create.

No prior experience is necessary, just confidence. If you can talk & sing along to the radio, your voice is good enough to be part of a musical theatre ensemble!
