The ActNow Theatre team is committed to learning more about Kaurna language and culture. Each month, we take turns in sharing a Kaurna word or phrase in our team meetings and love sharing our learnings with you.

This month’s word is ‘Wingku’ which means (breath).

This word has been chosen by Nick, who says ‘My latest Kaurna word offer is,
Wingku, meaning breath.
A good word to remember when life gets a bit busy and stressful.’

The ActNow Theatre team is committed to learning more about Kaurna language and culture. Each month, we take turns in sharing a Kaurna word or phrase in our team meetings and love sharing our learnings with you.

This month’s word is ‘Ngayanthi’ which means (play, do, perform).

This word has been chosen by , Yasmin who says ‘ My selected Kaurna word is Ngayanthi which means play, do, perform but it can also mean to tease or fool around, and that seems very fitting with our Like Me, Like You free performances coming up. Playing has an important role at ActNow whether it is in a rehearsal room or in the office. It reminds us of why we do what we do, and reconnects us to our creativity. It helps us to find joy in our work, even when it can be extremely challenging. ‘
