It's the final week of the of the North Geelong Community Lantern Trail Exhibition and Pop Up Hub. Book a time through the Eventbrite page then come along to see some big beautiful recycled plastic sculptures. This Wednesday and Thursday, we're making recycled plastic hanging decorations in the workshop.

Last Thursday at Norlane Community Centre we shared a simple technique for tinting (some) recycled plastics. We're using recycled PVC floor mats to create the stained-glass inspired panels for our large luminous NCC lantern.

The North Geelong Community Lantern Trail officially launched at Rosewall Community Centre on Tuesday. For the next couple of weeks we'll be making recycled plastic flowers together, drop in and make a flower with us on Tuesdays, have a chat, or bring in your plastics for us to recycle into art.

We've started experimenting with melted plastics! For the next 3 weeks we're making small hanging lanterns at Cloverdale Community Centre, and at Norlane Community Centre we're making melted plastic stained glass windows for one of our large lanterns. Drop in to help at Cloverdale on Wednesdays 11am - 3pm and Thursday nights 5pm-8pm, and at Norlane Mondays 11am-4pm and Thursdays 11am-2.30.

OOhhh! Our new North Geelong Community Lantern Trail whiteboard signs are making their debut at Cloverdale Community Centre - drop in workshops are running from 11am to 2pm today.

Got plastic bottles and bottle caps? We're seeking donations of clean recycled plastics for the North Geelong Community Lantern Trail.

Donation boxes are out the front of Norlane Community Centre and Cloverdale Community Centre

Donated plastics will be used to create 4 large-scale illuminated lanterns and a filed of 400 recycled plastic flowers. When it's time to retire the artworks, the plastics will be sorted and recycled, or reused to make new artworks.
