Antarctica – Domain One
Wednesday 3 June / 7pm
Presented By Noosa International Surfilm Festival

Premiere of ANTARCTICA – DOMAIN ONE, the new Gauchos del Mar film shot on the White Continent. Narrated by Kelly Slater.

After six films and 66 international awards, brothers Joaquín and Julián Azulay are premiering their seventh feature film.

Antarctica – Domain One is a call for conservation. This documentary delves into the urgent need to safeguard Antarctica, a continent that belongs to all humanity. It reveals the severe consequences of climate change on this fragile ecosystem, the growing threat of fishing fleets targeting krill populations, and the crucial importance of establishing a network of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
Through the narration of Kelly Slater, the film closely follows the adventures of the characters: the Gauchos del Mar brothers on their sailing, trekking, and surfing expedition; passionate biologist Ro-dolfo Werner, who navigates geopolitical challenges; and dedicated scientist Manuel Novillo, who conducts vital research on krill, fish, and glaciers.

Join renowned conservationists like Paul Nicklen and Cristina Mittermeier in their determined mission to protect Antarctica’s unmatched environment—an environment that sustains the future of our planet.
This film is a powerful call to action, emphasizing the urgent need for an MPA to ensure the ecological balance of Antarctica and the survival of its extraordinary marine life.

The Spooky Men's Chorale
25 Years of Pointless Grandeur
Saturday 6 June / 7.30
Tickets: thej.com.au/spooky-mens-chorale/

Drop deadpan beautiful mansinging that might well change your life.
The Spooky Men’s Chorale is a magnificent, many-headed beast that has revolutionised the world of men’s singing. Bypassing well trodden avenues, they carve out new territories of mighty sounds, exquisite tenderness, and charming stupidity to both celebrate masculinity and mock it.
Formed in Australia in 2001, the Spooks have become rock-solid festival and theatre favourites in Australia, UK and Europe, with seven albums and 900 gigs under their belts.
The show evokes musical worlds far beyond that suggested by their unassuming, casually hatted, black-clad appearance. They are just a bunch of blokes, but where they take you will blow your mind.
"The Spooky Men’s Chorale is everything you’d hope an Aussie male a ca****la group would be! Irreverent, audacious, satirical, funny – and at the same time whimsical, tender, sincere and harmonious." - Stage Whispers
“It takes a rare skill to be very silly, thoughtful, and sing in perfect harmony, but the Spooky Men’s Chorale manage to achieve just that.” – The Guardian
Don’t be fooled by their unassuming appearance, they’re not just a bunch of blokes in casual hats and black clothes. Once they start singing, they’ll transport you to musical worlds you never knew existed – stand back and “enjoy the beautifully sung anarchy” – Glasgow Herald
This is choral music reimagined—funny, moving, and completely unforgettable.
