No glue is used in the tree construction - some of the trees are glued to a base (rock, timber, glass etc). Most of my trees are based on the ancient principles of Bonsai, so exhibit their character and beauty. These make wonderful gifts for friends, family or yourself.....

Last week these cute little weeping willow trees left for new homes. The black one went to Belgium and the copper one to USA.

These little trees are about 5cm tall.

Copper is a traditional gift for seventh wedding anniversary; and Willow is the traditional present for the ninth anniversary. So the little trees make lovely little, unique anniversary presents.

I make them in many different colours. There are a couple on display at Beachmere & Artisans Gift Shop.

Here is a tree I made a few months ago. Trying something a little different for the willow foliage. And attempting to get a light, airy feeling with the black trunk and branches peeking through the shimmering foliage. Pretty happy with the result.....

This one's is made from nearly 200 metres of copper wire in Black and Rose colours. It is about 20cm tall.

Here is a tree I made recently. This is a traditional style tree made from 150 strands of a mix of .8 and 1mm aluminium wire. My wife tells me the colour is Aqua, but I called it Blue.... It stands 30cm tall, mounted on a piece of bark.

This tree is on display at Red Poppy Art Collective in Redcliffe, Qld.

Long time since posting. Had an operation on my shoulder which prevented me from making trees for about four months. And a bit of travel, but all is now good and tree production is back in business.

I love this tree group I made from aluminium wire. It now sits proudly on my patio table. I found the piece of wood and just felt it needed a group to set it off properly. And the aluminum colour and the raspberry colour work so well together.

After a couple of months of not being able to make trees due to shoulder surgery, I am finally able to get back into this.

I just made this tree as a commission based on a similar tree I have on display at the Bribie Island Art Centre.

This tree is gold aluminum for the trunk and branches, and green for the foliage. It stands 42 cm tall.

So good to be back making trees!

Just finished this little tree. Silver plated copper wire for the trunk and branches, and Sapphire Blue copper wire for the foliage. It is planted in a hand made pot I bought at a local market from the maker.

Tried a different foliage technique to see if I could get a lighter, less formal looking effect.

Just finished this latest tree. My take on a Jacaranda. Made from grey aluminium and two slightly differing shades of purple. The tree is mounted on a fairly serious rock and stands a total of 32 cm tall.

I was sitting back looking at it and thought "that branch on the left is just crying out for a swing". So it now has a little swing to add a bit of whimsy....

Whist not strictly Gum tree shaped, the foliage had a Gum feel about it so I used some artistic licence and called this one "Blue Gum".

I made this tree recently from. 8mm aluminium wire. It stands 18cm tall and 23cm wide.

I was trying to get a gnarled, aged effect on the trunk.

The tree is styled as an Informal Upright Bonsai. This style represents an old tree such as an Oak, growing in a meadow where the breezes have bent the trunk into gentle curves and the trunk tapers smoothly from the base to the top. The branches alternate on each side and are on the outside of a bend in the trunk.

This tree is currently on display at Red Poppy Art Collective in Redcliffe, Queensland.
