We are proud to announce that our work BioDream won a Special Merit award at the 2025 Australian Effects & Animation Festival in July. BioDream was a creative and artistic collaboration between 5 people - Julian Reinhold, Oliver Abbott, Bonnie Forsyth, Alex Dray and Nick Tory. Between February and April 2025 we designed and hand crafted our show, which is a tribute to our friend Jonathan Nix, and an exploration of the symbolism of water as a metaphor for grief, new growth and the flow of life in dreams.
Our friend Vivid Sydney festival director was especially supportive of our project and thank you to and too.

Working with my co artists on BioDream was so much fun.
Bonnie’s birds and clouds has been many people’s favourite part of our show. Oliver’s creative design of our opening sequence is so elegant, calming and pleasing to experience, and my very good friend Julian’s blooming psychadelic tulip and mangrove tree sequence is so so cool. Alex Dray’s soundtrack blew us all away and there were never any changes requested, he created a perfect voice for our show.

Our possums are back - Burwood’s Unity Place ❤️

“A warm breeze whispers through leafy drapes of ancient treetops. Below, my ancestors sit in dust. Their fire’s lessons held and passed as was done since the first dawn. Grey plumes spiral skyward, reaching up towards those who once warmed their spirit by this flame.

A small child breaks her gaze of embers, for she feels a presence loom. Yet fear doesn’t replace the comfort of the wise fire. It cradles her and pulls her closer. She has felt this before. She knows she is safe.

The wind’s whisper grows to a groan as her young eyes search for her visitor. Above, the wind lifts the veil of leaves for a moment. Two huge flame-filled eyes appear and greet my mother’s own. The veil rises once more. Fur stained of yellow ochre glows against the night sky is revealed. And there, nestled in the arms of the ancient tree, she knows it is Wilay and she knows she is home.”

I am a proud Wayilwan person from Coonamble, New South Wales. I would like to acknowledge that this artwork will be viewed off my home country of the Wayilwan people.

I respectfully acknowledge all nations on which the Sovereign Hill, Ballarat and Ample Projects operate.

It is a privilege for me to share my expression of Wayilwan culture, and I am honoured to be inspired by the cultural and artistic traditions of my ancestors. I would like to express my gratitude to the Elders and Ancestors for their wisdom, courage, and endurance as I endeavour to continue the preservation of our culture through an evolving landscape.
