Late on Sunday 11 Oct at BSV Exhibition, I was asked if I had more Copper Beech available for sale. Fagus sylvatica atropurpuream. Despite having a notebook & pen handy, I didn’t write down your name. Tired, sorry. Here is Copper Beech stock leafing out. I don’t ship/freight/post plant material, thus personal delivery only, within a reasonable radius of Melbourne, especially to Club meetings. Thank you from Elaine.

Here are more of my personal favourites from this year’s stellar Bonsai Society of Victoria exhibition at Box Hill Town Hall, 10-11 October. I showed a filigree (dissectum) deep red-pigmented Japanese Maple, grown since 1991 from nursery stock (last pic, in its magnificent Mariusz Folda pot from Poland). I’ve had that tree longer than I’ve had children. A privilege to be on the benches alongside bonsai, accents & wire trees of this calibre. Thank you very much BSV committee, members, sponsors & of course our hundreds of visitors, for making this one of the great events on the Australian Bonsai calendar.

Happy moments & highlight trees from day one, 2026 Bonsai Society of Victoria exhibition. Before doors opened, we sang Happy Birthday to our wonderful member, Jim! We do it all again on Sunday 11 Oct, Box Hill Town Hall.
