First time exhibitor with Cstudios, Denise Painter brings her vibrant and contemporary works using her design background creating collage and acrylics pieces.

Denise Painter
Artist Statement
My creative journey began in 1993 when I became a stay-at-home mother and started exploring new creative possibilities. I studied Colour and Design, Graphic Design and, later, Visual Arts at TAFE.
Over the past 25 years, I have developed a distinctive artistic style centred on collage, decoupage and mixed media. My work is created by hand or through digital techniques, often combining colour, texture and layered imagery.
I am particularly drawn to the possibilities of abstraction and surrealism, with colour playing an integral role in every piece.
In 2019, I moved from Sydney to Toronto, Lake Macquarie, where I established YouCreate Studio & Gallery. From my studio, I create and exhibit my work and hold creative workshops and classes.
I am actively involved in local art societies and currently serve as Art Director for the Wangi Lions Dobell Art & Craft Festival.

Graeme Choat
Regularly exhibiting over the past few years Graeme is an important member of the ARTSIDERS being a mentor and guide for the group. His stunning photography has impressed many audiences.
* He uses images of the everyday world,but engaging the eye and the mind to look really deeply, sometimes using surface layers and larger everyday objects to render this in unusual or unexpected way, encouraging the viewer to look, feel and think in differently. Many of his works initially puzzle and intrigue, as the viewer wrestles to attribute the photographic images to the initial everyday object. His work includes this puzzle and intrigue, asking for engagement with the image.
This current series is another new direction where the everyday sky is presented in multitudinous forms, lines and shapes drawing us in to examine in detail the beauty and unique qualities usually overlooked.
