my friends are being locked in cages and facing deportation for standing up for climate justice, new laws being passed to criminalise protest in NSW. whilst ecosystems are collapsing and extreme weather events are rising, the Australian state continues to give endless subsidies and grant leases to fossil fuel companies to destroy what we have left. want to support those fighting for a safe planet? giving thanks and praise only goes so far. these legal battles are expensive, please chip in if you can and share around with your networks.

this is me at 10 years old. I liked drawing and playing soccer. my mum and family were the centre of my world. In australia today, kids as young as 10 are being sent to prison and taken away from their families. white australia has a dark legacy of stealing Indigenous children, and the modern prison system is another means of traumatising, criminalising and enslaving Indigenous people, to seperate from family and culture. police and prisons are part of the ongoing project of settler-colonial australia. no child should be in prison. raising the age isn’t enough, we need to abolish prisons and invest in communities, so all children can dream and realise their own futures. until then, dissent in the ways you can, educate yourself, spread awareness and sign the petition https://www.raisetheage.org.au.
