Thank you so much to all who came to the event on Friday! With your help we had over 100 artworks donated and we raised just over $1600 for Soul Hub! Ellie and I are so grateful for all the support we've had getting the exhibition ready over the last few months. ❤️

Saturday 30/9/23, 2:00-3:00pm, Callaghan campus, CT building foyer.
Wednesday 4/10/23, 4:30-5:30pm, Callaghan campus, CT building foyer.
We'd love to get as many as possible before the exhibition as this will make setting up a bit easier!

Our Submissions form is now live! This form allows you to register your artwork and add a short blurb to accompany your art in the exhibition.

The form asks you for your name, email (not made public), name of your artwork, artwork medium, and a short blurb. Most of these are optional. This information will help us plan the setup for the exhibition.

Once you've completed your artwork, we have some drop-off times coming up where you can deliver it to us. We have:

1. Thursday 28/9/23, 8:30-9:30am, NUspace campus, foyer near Hunter St entrance.
2. Saturday 30/9/23, 2:00-3:00pm, Callaghan campus, CT building foyer.
3. Wednesday 4/10/23, 4:30-5:30pm, Callaghan campus, CT building foyer.

Meet the Artist: Dhiiyaan Art. Jess has very generously contributed one of her beautiful pieces for our raffle. Find out more about Jess and Dhiiyaan Art below!

“Dhiiyaan (Dee-yarn) = Family
Dhiiyaan Art started as a family collaboration with my father Peter and his wife Samantha in 2020 - due to full time work commitments they add pieces only when possible.
My name is Jess and I am a proud Aboriginal woman that loves sharing and embracing my culture with the world. I'm happily married with two beautiful daughters living on Wonnarua country.
I was born and raised on Awabakal land with my ancestral family connections with the Barkindji, Ngemba, Gamilaraay-Yuwaalaraay areas of NSW
My art depicts the beauty of nature and its elements. I draw inspiration from the beautiful country on which we live, as well as creating art that is reflective of family, community and belonging.”

Want to get involved and raise money for Soul Hub? Please fill out the below form to say you'll make an artwork for the exhibition. You don't have to be sure what you're going to make yet - it's for us to get some rough numbers and to get people thinking. The form asks your name, email, what medium you might do, and confirmation that you know the artworks will be up for sale on the night.

Hi, we're Sophia and Ellie! I Made This For You is a charity art exhibition raising money for Soul Hub. The exhibition will be held on Friday 6th October at the University of Newcastle.

The aims of the exhibition are to:
1. Make art more affordable and accessible,
2. Raise money for a local charity,
3. Get people involved with art, and
4. Create a sense of community.

Please contribute an artwork to the exhibition on the theme of "community/home". This theme can be interpreted however you choose! The aim is not for the artworks to be perfect or professional, it's just to get involved with art and your local community.

On the night, people will be able to pay a small amount and buy any of the works in the exhibition. There will be some interactive art on the night, and to further raise money for Soul Hub we will be raffling off some works by local Hunter artists. It's shaping up to be a very fun night, so please get involved!
