New Zealand born master of intergalactic funk, K+LAB, has been rocking dance floors and bringing the heat to the masses since he first burst onto the scene with his debut album "Spacedirt" in 2013. An ever-expanding galaxy of FUNK, K+Lab's sound is always absorbing and incorporating a seemingly endless array of influences and vibes – the head-nod aesthetic of hip-hop, the futuristic techniques of Glitch-hop and the fury of drum n' bass – all tied together by an orbital pull of all things funky.

Unlike anything else occupying the sonic landscape today, Armed with his signature keytar, K+Lab's incredible, live performances garnered high profile slots at some of the world's most lauded dance festivals like Oregon Eclipse, Electric Love, Shambhala Music Festival, Breakfest, Rainbow Serpent, Northern Bass and has seen him conquer dancefloors across over the globe including U.S, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, UK, South America and his native New Zealand.

LO'99 is renowned for his own brand of house & techno music, his productions often delivering distinctive rave & garage sounds. Dance music's elite are getting behind his vision with LO being called upon to remix the likes of Fatboy Slim, Royksopp, Kaskade, Moby, Pnau, Junior Jack, Peking Duk & Alunageorge.

When it comes to his own records, LO shows exactly why he's up there alongside Australia's best, with many singles out on coveted tastemaker labels around the globe and local imprint Medium Rare Recordings, His recent releases ‘OD1, ‘And It Goes’, ‘Run to the Rhythm' & ‘Big Dipper’ becoming staples in record boxes & playlists around the world.

Mood Swing & Chevy Bass have cemented their place as one of Australia’s most electrifying live electronic acts and undisputed party starters of the global festival circuit.

The genre-bending duo conduct every show like ringmasters of a bass-fuelled circus live remixing, multi-instrument slinging, and pushing crowds to surrender their inhibitions to the rhythm. Their signature sets are famously described as “funky in the front, filthy in the back,” weaving bass, disco and funk-infused party starters into thick, rolling house and heavyweight low-end chaos.

But it’s not just the music that turns heads.

With a flair for costumes, theatrics and pure spectacle, no two shows are ever the same. Expect wailing keytars, tribal percussion, samplers, horn sections, electric cello and whatever else fits inside the sonic circus that night. It’s immersive, unpredictable and unapologetically high-energy.

Since launching in 2015, Mood Swing & Chevy Bass have toured extensively across North America, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. Highlights include multiple North American tours, a sold-out MSCB Block Party in Whistler, and appearances at iconic festivals including Texas Eclipse Festival, Shambhala Music Festival, Boomtown Fair, Rainbow Serpent Festival, Splendour in the Grass and Strawberry Fields, just to name a few 

With multiple releases on Westwood Recordings, Box of Cats, Hexagon and a growing catalogue of international collaborations, the duo continue to expand their sonic footprint while staying true to what built the movement in the first place: connection, chaos and full-tilt dancefloor energy.

Shenanigans is hosting the official Subsonic After-Party at The Lass.
Shenanigans has been Newcastle’s home of house and techno for more than four years. What started as a small friends-and-family gathering at The Lass has grown into one of the region’s most respected underground events, known for its consistent atmosphere, strong lineups and a dancefloor that always feels connected.
Their roots tie back to Subsonic in a real way. Shenanigans was inspired by their first trip to our festival in 2016 and shaped a lot of what they do now. Hosting our official after-party feels fitting and full circle.
This Saturday they are transforming The Lass into a Freaky Tiki dreamscape and rolling out their biggest program yet. Expect three international artists from our lineup, supported by sixteen Australian selectors covering techno, house and psy-tech. Box Events will be reworking the venue and Panda Sound will be running two stages with their signature Danley system.
It is an 11-hour, high-intensity session built for people who want to keep going after the festival.
