These incredible large scale feather works have been created by Anna Louise Richardson for her current exhibition, ‘Bird Years’. Her unique cut-out works are charcoal drawings made on pieces of cement fibreboard that have been cut and shaped by the artist.

We love how she has given solid form to the delicate subject matter, bringing a powerful impact that connects with audiences as they walk in to the exhibition.

There is just over a week left to view the show. It is on until Saturday 22 August 2026.

‘I asked for a sign (wedge-tailed eagle)’ by Anna Louise Richardson won the inaugural Girra:Fraser Coast National Art Prize and is currently on display Logan Art Gallery as part of their ‘Where do I belong?’ exhibition. The exhibition features an incredible group of Australian artists, who explore the beauty and fragility of native birds.

The artist created this work as part of a series she made in the years following her mother’s passing in 2020. Anna was visited by birds, which she often felt were visitations from her mother. Her drawing, ‘Am I being told off (butcherbird)’ 2022, also part of this series, is currently on display as part of her solo exhibition, ‘Bird Years’, which is on Lawson Flats Both works were originally displayed together as part of earlier exhibitions in WA and VIC.

‘Where do I belong’ exhibition is on at the Logan Art Gallery in QLD until 29 August 2026.

‘Bird Years’ exhibition is on at Lawson Flats in WA until 22 August 2026.
