It's amazing what you can do with a bell, a buggy, and some Lucerne. The herd all came in pretty easily yesterday afternoon so we could get them through the crush today for a drench, and weigh in.

Is the grass really greener on the other side?

These two cheeky calves think so...

Thank you to everyone that reached out to check on us during/after the flooding. We are totally fine and have fared much better than other farms and properties that sadly have a lot of damage, and lost livestock- we hope they're all recovered 🙏

We've lost a bit of fence which is partly salvagable along the creek and the usual wash outs to be expected as part of a tropical North Qld wet season. Power was out for a few days but nothing we weren't prepared for.

The creek has had a much needed flush out and our Pink Euodia trees planted a couple of years ago are flowering!
We'll post some more photos of the creek in due course. We've had over half a metre of rain in the past week, the place is sopping wet and has limited our ability to check everything. It's definitely 4WD access only at the moment and we're limiting how much we drive on the property to avoid more damage.

Called in the herd this morning 🌄 for some hay; always good to see them up close and check their condition. Other than what's in the paddock, they have Elimix - Livestock Supplement. The hay isn't necessarily 100% required but they love it, and its a means to get them used to coming up close to us.

This brindle heifer takes her babysitting duties quite seriously, keeping the baby of the herd safe, no one is messing with those horns...
