Australia Day in Nelson Bay This is the official page of the Nelson Bay Australia Day Committee, Nelson Bay, NSW, Australia.

Started in 1997, Australia Day in Nelson Bay is run by a community committee representing various groups in the Nelson Bay Community. It is a sub-committee of the Port Stephens Australia Day Committee, a 355C committee of Port Stephens Council. Our Mission Statement is: To prepare for, conduct and sustain effective Australia Day Celebrations in Nelson Bay for the enjoyment of the residents and vis

itors to the Tomaree Peninsula Port Stephens. Our Objectives are:
• To celebrate Australia’s national day.
• To promote patriotism.
• To promote and foster community spirit.
• To provide safe family entertainment at minimal cost.
• To promote greater involvement in community events.
• To promote local arts and artists in the community.
• To provide a venue for local artists to promote themselves.
• To provide local service clubs an opportunity to raise funds in return for assisting in the organising and running of the day’s events and entertainment.
• To provide entertainment and an “experience” for visitors to the area.
• To strive for continual improvement in the co-ordination of the Australia Day Celebrations.

Getting ready for the 2026 Celebrations of Australia Day in Nelson Bay. Music this year by the popular Newcastle band Leroi and the Rats, lots of other entertainments for adults and children including a world class magician. Don't miss the Classic cars on display, one is 100 years old this year. An Australian Army band will be performing, lots of food stalls, other entertainments, join us in welcoming Australia's newest citizens at the Citizenship Ceremony. Starts at around 9.00am (Nelson Bay time).

Zone Active dancers first appearance at Australia Day in Nelson Bay, serving out the huge lamington cake to the appreciative crowd. Our fabulous Emcee for the day Todd Sergeant's European Cruise 2016. What a fantastic job Todd did to keep our day moving along smoothly and what a nice bloke he is as well.
