A field of 20 players contested Monday’s Medley Stableford, with some very good scoring at the top.

Division 1: Tina Wilson 43 points
Division 2: Chris Hendra 36 points

Balls went to 35 points, with Chris Fader, Mary Young, Kerry Gardner and Sylvia Donohoe collecting one each. Chris Besley was the Secret Six winner.

The penultimate round of the Mitchell 4BBB was played in glorious conditions on Sunday 30 August, with 18 teams contesting Round 8.

Rob and Jan Atkinson took the honours with an excellent 48 Stableford points, one clear of Tony and Jan Morrison on 47. Chris Hendra and Robert Cox claimed third place, on a countback, with 46 points. Balls ran down to 43, while Scott Harris recorded the only NTP of the day on the 17th.

With just one round remaining, Chris and Robert lead the overall competition on 215 points, ahead of Robyn and Ross Giblett on 212 and Jayne Hotchkis and Stewie Fowler on 206. Julie Melville and Kevin Phillips sit on 204, with Tanya Desmond and Andrew Thompson close behind on 203. Several other teams are also still within striking distance of the prestigious, and valuable, prize.

The final round is set down for Sunday 11 October and, with the leaderboard still very much alive, it promises to be keenly contested.

THURSDAY 27th AUGUST

The course renovations continued to produce good scores for the field of 127 players.

In A Grade Matt George had an outstanding two-over-par round off his handicap of 9 to register 43 points, with Terry O'Callaghan runner-up on 39 points. A four-way countback o 38 points gave third place to Bob Dragisic from Macquarie Links ahead of Richard Goodridge, Steven Tate and Greg Holmes.

Alan Cordner took out B Grade with 39 points off his handicap of 15 on countback from Rob Russack. Another four-way countback on 38 points gave third place to Lloyd McLachlan ahead of Michael Wuttke-Hayes, Craig Flick from Georges River and Paul Sweeney.

In C Grade Andrew Barry prevailed with 39 points off his handicap of 23 , with Tony Dawson and Scott Bowden in the minor positions on 38 and 37 points respectively.

The nearest-the-pin winners were Robert Coulson on 3, Bill Durnan on 9, Geoff Lanham on 14 and Darrin Stollznow on 17, while the ball competition went about halfway down the 34 points range.

SATURDAY 29th AUGUST

The good scores continued for the field of 138 players where Graham Kerr took out A Grade with 42 points off his handicap of 11, ahead of Greg Holmes on 40 points, while Robert Ackling edged out Mick Miller on 39 points on countback. Miller went round in five-under-par off his plus 2 handicap. Other good rounds were produced by Scott Harris with one-under-par and Adam Harris with even par.

Andrew Millikin from Moruya won B Grade with 43 points off his handicap of 19, ahead of Allan Chisholm and Nigel Roberts on 42 and 41 points respectively.

Luke Barry prevailed in C Grade with 40 points off his handicap of 27, with Richard Bodell runner-up on 39 points. Bruce Day finished third with 38 points on countback from Mandy Hall and Mike Shevlin.

The nearest-the-pin winners were Mark Rogerson on 3, Chris Heath and Michael Wuttke-Hayes on 9, Murray Walpole on 14 and Scott Harris on 17, while the ball competition went almost all the way down the 35 points range. RGI

Narooma Women’s Golf – Monday & Wednesday Results

Monday’s Medley Stableford attracted just 20 players, with Tina Wilson winning A Grade with 37 points and Chris Hendra having a great day to take B Grade with an impressive 43 points. Chris also picked up the Secret Six. Balls went to 31.

On Wednesday, 44 women were out on course. Bec Hardy won Division 1 with 40 points, ahead of Lisa Beveridge on 36, while Andy Alexander also posted 40 points to win Division 2, with Jan Morrison runner-up on 39.

Nearest the pins went to Pam Shepherd on the 3rd and Chris Fader on the 17th, while Lisa Beveridge claimed the Secret Six. Balls down to 33 C/B
