VOLUNTEER AT THE NEW NAROOMA ARTS CENTRE (NAC)

Whether you're keen to brush-up on your knowledge of the art in the region, able to assist in moving furniture and equipment, other happy to lend a few hours a week or month volunteering at the NAC, we would love to hear from you!

With plenty of exciting exhibitions and workshops in the pipeline, now is the time to join our Volunteer /registry to secure your place at the local heart of the arts - the NAC.

Narooma Arts Centre VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Since 1895, the Narooma School of Arts has brought community members together through storytelling and art. Now, with the opening of the dynamic new Narooma Arts Centre (NAC), we’re looking for volunteers to help write the next chapter.

We’re seeking people with a wide range of skills to kelp us build a genuine home for multi-disciplinary art made by community, for community.

Volunteer jobs include:
- Exhibition installation
- Gallery Attendance
- Reception and Information
- Facility Access
- Events and Workshops
- Hospitality (RSA desirable)

Whether you’re an arts enthusiast, a hospitality whizz, a tradesperson with practical skills, or simply someone who wants to enrich the cultural life of the Narooma area, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s work together to ensure the enjoyment of art in our community for generations to come!

All ages welcome to apply. Volunteers under 18 are paired with an adult volunteer mentor.

'1 in 100' Community Shares supports artists at the Narooma Arts Centre

💯 The ‘1 in 100’ Community Share holders are opening the doors of the Narooma Arts Centre to exhibiting artists. Our Community Share investment removes the fee that would otherwise be charged to artists for using the gallery.

💯 This brings a wider field of artists and audiences to our town. This is good for business and for all of Narooma.

💯 We are excited to announce that of our 68 shareholders, 16 percent are local businesses. A huge thanks to those who have joined us in this new cultural journey - you are part of something lasting.

📣 Call for old, used, forgotten and just plain worn out paintbrushes 📣

We are undertaking a community art project with local school students to depict a member of our community painted on to a paintbrush.

❓WHAT WE NEED: Old and used paintbrushes preferably no less than 3 fingers wide to make it easier to paint and decorate 🖌

DROP OFF POINT: Donated brushes to be delivered to the Narooma Men's Shed Tuesdays - Fridays between 10 and 1pm.

📆 WHEN: FRIDAY 8 MAY

🤩RESULT: The decorated brushes will be part of our opening events at the new Narooma Arts Centre.

Be/Longing invites artists to explore the physical and emotional landscapes of belonging: what it means to feel connected to community, to Country, to place, or to oneself. From the wild coastal edges of our unique environment to the quiet interiors of the self, the exhibition encourages diverse interpretations of what it means to belong.
