Good Evening all.
Its been a while since we have done an update but this is wedding season.
I would just like to address something that happened to one of our DJ's last Saturday night.
Now let me start off that in all my years in the industry we have never been faced with this behaviour before.
One of our DJ's was at a wedding at Menangle Country Club and he was asked to turn the music down by the bride to which he obliged.
Then a minute later the venue asked him to turn it down which he tried to explain he already did but the venue didn't want to hear anything that was said so he turned it down again.
Then a minute later a very intoxicated groom came over and got in the DJ's face screaming at him making threats.
The dj then went to speak to the bride who was talking with the venue staff when the drunk husband came over again screaming at the dj and was up in his face again.
The groom then struck the dj infront of the bride and the venue manager.
The dj walked away and was approached by the venue manager and asked if the venue was going to call the police and was told no.
Once the DJ started that he was going to call the police and involve legals the venue didn't want to discuss the issue any further.
Now the interesting thing here is the venue didn't call the police even though their liquor licence states that they need to report every assault and incident.
They also didn't remove the other party from the venue even after he just assaulted a member of the community.
And they also failed to comply with their obligations for holding a liquor licence in nsw.
Once it was made clear that we will be pursuing this with the relevant authorities we here at Mac DJ's received a very disappointing email from Club Menangle stating that the venue is disappointed in the behaviour of the DJ who was just assaulted and not offered any help or even to ask if he was ok.
Then the email stated that we at Mac DJ's have been banned from supplying a service at any of the menangle venues.
I have reached out to the management of menangle and have been meet with radio silence no response via emails or phone calls.
Please be aware that Mac DJ's will no longer supply any services to any menangle venues and if you are considering the venue i would reconsider as do you wish to use a venue that doesn't care at all about the safety of you, your guests, your vendors or the general public.
And now that wests group has purchased the venue hopefully it changes and becomes a safe venue again.
Thankfully the DJ is ok after a few days of rest due to a back pain from the assault he is ok.
Take a look at the email from menangle yourself and ask your self does this look like a venue that cares about your well-being or is it a cover up.
