Saturday and Sunday 10am to 3pm

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS 10-3
We are now open on most Public Holidays!

Except for Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day

All open days are subject to Volunteers The gallery is a not for profit organisation, showcasing local history and run by volunteers from the community. The permanent collection of the gallery has a regular rotation and there are two areas in the building available for hire for private and community functions. We also run workshops and training and have a retail outlet for local quality items and artwork.

When is the background and the story of the art as interesting and diverse as the art itself? When the artist is South Australian Dan Withey.

The gallery is full of artworks containing of animism, creation, human relationship to the universe, and of course, glitter!

If any of these appeal to you, come down to the gallery and explore Dan's world!

We have been so busy at the Gallery the past few weeks we haven't even had time to stop and reflect. So, this week we will put the spotlight on our guest speaker Dr. Neale Schofield

We had an amazing talk on Vincent Van Gogh and spirituality and how that influenced his life and his art. Did you know Van Gogh originally wanted to be and was a preacher? What would Starry Night sound like as a sermon?

Do you think of religion or spirituality when you look at Van Gogh's art? Do you think about it when you look at art in general?

Come down to the Naracoorte Art Gallery and have a look around our current collection by Dan Withey. It might not be Vincent, but maybe some similar themes...

Long Weekend Plans at the Art Gallery you say?

Are you coming to see "Finite Bounty" by Dan Withey and interact with the ideas of non human things having a soul?

The Naracoorte Art Gallery is so happy to introduce you to "Arnold". This gorgeous PAINTING of the real bearded dragon has won the IBIS Rising 2026 Viewers Choice Awards! The artist, Meagan Lonsdale, uses Arnold as her muse and it has paid off. After almost 200 votes this year, Arnold won by just ONE vote! If you missed voting for Arnold this year, you will have to visit us next year and cast your vote for Viewers Choice 2027!

Don't want to wait that long to visit the gallery? Come along this Friday to the opening of our exhibition "Finite Bounty" (29 May - 5 July) by Dan Withey. For the first time in a few years the author will be here for the opening and conducting an artist's talk.
