Well , despite COVID, we managed to achieve some incredible murals again in Nambour . Started the year with our emerging artist @isabelle_heaton beautiful flowers at Baptist op shop , followed with our heritage themed Maureen Hungerford mural at Nambour State College , a Sarah Sculley incredible depiction , Lanhams Sawmill in Price Street , created from original photo by Ross Holloway . We did internal murals at Morningstar Digital and Nambour Pinball Parlour both in Currie Street and by Ross . We won the Volunteering Award for bringing business to Nambour and awarded at Business Innovation Centre at SCU . Sadly our fundraising event , Fuse Fest , fell victim to COVID19 with threat of lockdown . We couldn’t achieve any of this without the amazing Street Art team , Rachel Pascoe and Cherry Powell , Jesse Serrell , totally dedicated to adding colour to Nambour . Our sponsors and landlords who let us paint on walls, And to Visit Sunshine Coast who arranged for us to tell our story on Channel 7 Weekender show to be aired on January 30th at 5.30 pm. But mostly our talented artists , professionals and emerging . We are pleased to announce more have been planned to kick off 2022 , so watch this space . Street Art Nambour are thrilled to be featured on Channel 7 Weekender show . It goes to air Sunday, January 30th, as part of Sunshine Coast gems and backed by @visitsunshinecoast . We are over the moon to tell our story and, see our murals on this fantastic show that promotes all Queensland treasures . Chris the presenter was a joy to talk to and the Producer Carol and cameraman Jim made the interview I did fun and they then went off to see our murals in town . This is great for Nambour, our artists and sponsors who support our small NFP group . We sincerely thank Visit Sunshine Coast for promoting us .

Congratulations Ross Holloway , our super street artist , for winning second prize in the prestigious art design awards for beer can design . His entry for Black Flag Brewery was exceptional , and a winner in our eyes of course . Well done Ross and Black Flag . Ross has just completed the Lanhams mural in Mill Street , Nambour and well known for the Black Knight on Nambour Pinball Parlour in Currie Street

Armed forces mural to bring vibrant colours to RSL Club
A colourful 13 metre wide street art mural honouring the three armed forces will soon adorn the Nambour RSL Club.
Nambour RSL Club’s Marketing and Communications Manager Kathryn Hopwood said the mural would be created by local artist Sarah Sculley. It was the result of collaboration with the Street Art Nambour project which aims to pay tribute and bring colour, honour and history to the town.
“The community of Nambour and our members voted between three modern and diverse options for the final design of our contribution to street art,” said Kathryn.
“The winning design represents each of the armed forces of Navy, Army, and Air Force through people in their uniforms and icons.”
Colours from the Australian, Indigenous and Torres Straight Island flags have been used and the Southern Cross is included on the left.
The street art will be painted on one of the Nambour RSL Club’s walls on Mathew Street Nambour. It will be finished by the end of October.
“It will take Sarah two days to complete and she will be using a scissor-lift and stencils to create her masterpiece,” said Kathryn.
Sarah is a Nambour urban artist who creates “Banksy-style” stencil works with a kick of colour and energy.
“Sarah has painted murals in many countries across the globe, but as a member of Nambour RSL Club, she feels this is one of her more meaningful murals.”
Street Art Nambour creations are positioned on walls and other structures throughout Nambour, providing a trail of culture and stories for locals and visitors alike.

We sadly announce postponing our event. Covid claims another and we decided to cancel in time for all to not be out of costs . Sadly again artists miss out , and we are sincerely gutted . As an ex-servicemen, I'm really proud to see Nambour RSL Club and Street Art Nambour collaborating to support local artists to create such an amazing piece of art work for our town.
The murals created by the team at Street Art Nambour are regularly recognised for their creative use of urban space across national platforms, and I would like to thank the team for always working to put Nambour and the Sunshine Coast Hinterland in the spotlight in such a positive way.

Fuse Fest
As covered in the August HT, Street Art Nambour is bringing the Fuse Fest festival to town, on Sunday September 12 from 10am - 8pm at the Nambour Showgrounds.
There will be over 100 stalls where you’ll find food, craft beers, wineries and arts. Musicians and entertainers will be sprinkled throughout the venue, with live music on the main stage from midday.
Organiser Lorraine Taylor said, “I couldn’t have done this without my amazing team. They’ve really taken up the slack after I injured myself last month.
“We have such an impressive line-up, and we want to make this bigger and better every time; expand the concept to other hinterland towns as well.”
All proceeds support up-and-coming artists who are adding colour and unique character to the town through their murals.
Tickets are $10 each or half price with Street Art membership. Kids/teens 5-17 $5, and under 5s free! Visit eventbrite.com or streetartnambour.org - tickets also available at the gate.
