I love art but I am not a fan of the art world. The pretentiousness ruins the beauty. The "rules" seek to control what should not be controlled. This world is filled with self appointed gate keepers and art police - gallerists, critics, other artists, sometimes even teachers at art schools, should they choose you, seek to give you licence and endorsement as an artist according to their own definitions and imaginitive constraints.
Art is for all of us. It should feel accessible and authentic. I love art as a form of creative human expression and connection, for it's capacity to capture our stories and the full spectrum of human emotions. Depending on the intention of the artist, it can be challenging, thought provoking, heartbreaking, joyful, peaceful...just lean into it and let it nourish you.
