As a mature woman at the almost ripe old age of 56 I have a few more aches and pains, many stories, some battle wounds but I am still here, wiser and happier, living my creative life with intention, authenticity and confidence.

These days we can buy almost anything from almost anywhere in the world but nothing beats the experience of shopping for gifts from local producers, shop keepers and makers. When you do this, you are connecting with real people and supporting your community. Buying gifts that are made with or carefully curated with intention from small business and local is generally more sustainable. Buying doesn't need to be from me. Supporting any local business is good business. Nambour has a great range of unique retail and boutique shops in and around Queen Street. Just remember to come into the Nambour C*D before shopping at Maroochydore or online.

It's never too late to become a conscious, small footprint consumer.

I have just returned from a couple of days visiting my parents in Brunswick Heads Nsw. The weather wasn't amazing. Rainy and overcast which wasn't exactly fun but it did inspire me to start on an abstract Brunswick River/Torakina Beach scape today. I like where it is going so far.

Who knew? It turns out that when you have an art gallery, opening it is a good idea 😄😄😄.

Today has been delightful and very affirming. I am happy to be here in my little creative space but sometimes I doubt myself and am not sure if I have done the right thing starting this little business. Today reminded me why I did. Two lovely customers came to Nambour especially to visit me here because they follow me on socials and saw that I was going to be open. One from Maleny and the other from Buderim. I get to share my own art and a mutual appreciation of art with likeminded folk. I am also able to add to the rich and diverse creative culture here on the Sunshine Coast. I am truely living the dream.

Opening Hours update.

The plan between now and December is to be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings from 10.30am until 1.30pm.

The from December until Xmas -

Thurdays 10.30am - 1.30pm and again from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

Fridays 10.30am - 1.30pm and 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

Saturdays 10.30am - 2.30pm.

I might also be here on the occasional Sunday afternoon. I will be busy doing a refresher course in ceramic mold making on Sunday mornings for a couple of months.

This will allow me to have important studio time for creating as well as open the gallery.

News for 2027, I will be running a regular Sunday morning still life drawing group. Small group. Casual and chilled. Freestyle. Playful. Self paced. Places limited. $40pp.

The group will start early before the heat of the day sets in. 8am - 10am, 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. Morning tea and shared art materials for the group will be provided. Additional art materials also for sale in store.
