Ah Folk Club, you keep growing and evolving. We had a beautiful bunch of performers in our intimate new venue. We may not be here for long, but it’s a great little space to hang out for a while. Many thanks to Robyn Cook from Cultivate the Chaos for loaning us the space.

Some pictures to help you find your way to our venue for Folk Club on Tuesday 15th September. Cultivate the Chaos is on Howard Street but your entrance is round the back. Go to Ann Street and walk up Porters lane (beside Friendlies chemist) turn left and come in through the gate to the outdoor seated area in the photo. Start time is 6pm - we can’t wait to share songs/tunes/poems with you all.

Thanks to Tommy and friends for this beautiful collaboration last month. However, I’m pleased to report that the carnival is NOT over. It is well and truly continuing!
Suren is moving to a new venue on the other side of Currie Street and we’re planning to go with him in a couple of months when he’s ready.
In the meantime, we’ve been kindly offered the use of ‘Cultivate the Chaos’ on Howard Street by Robyn Cook. The space is being used as a film studio/ workshop space at the moment and there’s also a little kitchen and outdoor undercover area. It’ll have house concert vibes for those who come to join us on Tuesday 15th September next week. Start time will be 6pm. Entry is up Porters Lane (off Ann Street) next to Friendlies Chemist. That gets you to the back of the venue (next to SCEC) for those who know it. Details on the folk club event page.

While we wait for the next Folk Club night, come join us this Saturday (5th September) for Enda Kenny's concert at the Black Box Theatre. Folk songwriting at its finest.

Last night we sung a fond farewell to our current venue, Small Change Espresso, and to its owner Suren who has been hosting us for over a year. It’s been a beautiful partnership that has seen Folk Club flourish and thrive. And of course…someone wrote a song about it. Have a listen to Dan performing his song to Suren (and everyone) last night. What a wonderful moment 💚 🎶

And here we are again, all ready for the next instalment of what we loosely call "magic". It will be the final folk club in our current venue (Small Change) as the building is being re-developed soon. So that'll be quite a Big Change really. Come and wish our host Suren well in his next adventure and let's make it a night to remember! Watch this space for news of where Folk Club will be going next.

I love that many of our regular performers are being inspired to write more songs because they can share them at folk club. This new one from Ben is a beauty. You’ll probably want to listen more than once.
