Instagram seems to not push any of my insect content out for anyone to see, do you guys not wanna see it?? Or does instagram suck? πŸ˜… I've been posting a lot of rat content, but am taking a break to focus on bugs for a bit, I've really missed this. So enjoy this frame I turned into a shadow box, filled with an atlas moth and a beautiful labradorite stone. I luv herrrrrr.

Would you believe that this gorgeous black and gold vintage frame was once a mirror?
I got to convert this into a shadow box and fill it with a white witch moth, inspired by a recent Victorian frame I made. Thanks Sherin for the trust with this commission πŸ–€βœ¨

After the loss of a loved one recently, I have inherited this Victorian style dome display back that I made her almost 3yrs ago. I made a scorpion fight scene balanced on a large amethyst crystal, with 2 smaller moths to symbolise her being a strong Scorpio woman being watched over by her angels. Only after looking at it multiple times a week for the last few years, and all the suffering and grief that has taken ahold of life lately. This piece felt like it needed a new transformation. I did debate changing things, but it felt right to do.
The strong Scorpio lady is now surrounded by a beautiful rose garden, and has now transformed into these giant atlas moths that now are my angels. I don't often keep anything for myself, but this special one now has a special place on my shelf πŸ₯€πŸ¦‚πŸ€

These White Witch Moths waited almost 2yrs for their moment to shine ✨
I planned on creating something with them ages ago but no frame or florals felt good enough for such amazing specimens.
I forgot how much I love making displays like this 🀍

One of my favourite pieces I've made in a long time, as part of my trade with Grave Metallum Jewellery πŸ–€βœ¨
White witch moths are an absolute favourite of mine, not only are they bigger than my hand, but look at those patterns πŸ‘€ idk, nature is just so incredible.

I forgot how insane the before and after of this taxidermy dog head is! My favourite project to date, and something that has been really meaningful to my taxidermy journey.
I was sold this dog head by an older lady in an antique store who said it was her late parents, they had brought it over from England and she said it was a German Shepard, she believed it to be almost 100yr old.
After spending a lot of time with this dog, talking to it like I was expecting a reply, and reading a lot of comments on my process videos I posted. I started to question the breed? Why was it snarling? Is it even a pet or did I just assume so? Maybe it was a working dog? Was this dog a male or female? Is it a dingo and did the lady lie to me? I guess I'll never know πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Nothing better than a rat sewn onto leopard print right?

PART 3
This is the final part, the paint job!
I was really nervous to do this part and it really was a 'trust the process' moment πŸ˜‚. I'm not sure if Gretel was missing teeth when she passed, or if over the almost 100yrs that she's been preserved, she's lost them over time. But I like the character and idea that she's old, so I decided to only give her 2 new teeth so that there was some type of symmetry. She's a gummy gorllll. I hope that wherever Gretel is, and whoever owned her are happy with the way she's been restored and loved now πŸ₯°πŸΆ
