Today in my workshop with 3 lovely boys (and big sister who bought them along and also joined in) we did the dreams and fears tree and finished off with a nice bright tree that resembles all the beautiful colourful things in life..I love hanging with them and doing some art that helps them identify their strengths, dreams and goals. The worms (worries/ fear) burrow into the ground and fertilize the tree of dreams 💕

Hi everyone. Thank you all for liking my page, I’m so grateful. Please feel free to share my page too. I’m providing Art therapy workshops to Children and Teens and soon Adults too from my home in Murwillumbah and can do some 1:1 sessions as well 😁 I’m providing a therapeutic art service that provides workshops to neurodiverse and neurotypical children and teens. ASD, ADHD, developmental delays, children or teens who suffer with depression or anxiety or anyone at all who likes to do art. Art is a beautiful expressive language in and of itself. Please like and share the page for more information about what I will be doing and to follow the progress of my new venture. Message me for times and availability and pricing. Thanks everyone. You are all appreciated 🌈💕

*This week we are doing the dreams and fear tree with some finger painting, drawing and cutting and time permitting the the I AM project. These are amazing exercises for self esteem building, identifying our strengths and visualising our worries being worms that burrow into the soil fertilising the tree helping our tree grow into a beautiful tree of accomplishments and strengths. There are numerous ways we can do this. I will be doing these exercises with participants in future sessions too, so there is more chances in the future also.

Hi all, please like and share my new business venture, or contact me if you would like to enquire. Yesterday was my first workshop and we made worry dolls. My participants were beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed their company. I’ve attached some photos of our creation and messages of encouragement they left with. They took their dolls home in a pouch with a poem and card to put under their pillows. Thanks everyone, I appreciate you 🌈

CHILDREN AND TEEN creative arts/art therapy workshops.

Hi everyone, i am a lifelong local of Murwillumbah and a single mum. I am currently studying Art therapy through CECAT which I will be fully qualified from by March next year at latest. I’ve started up a new business called ‘LouMoo Therapeutic Arts’ which will be run from my home here in Murwillumbah. The business will provide weekly art workshops/sessions for children of all ages and abilities and functioning. Neurotypical and neurodivergent. Self managed and plan managed NDIS clients and of course those who do not have NDIS and just love arts and crafts. I have two children on the ASD spectrum and my son has severe combined type ADHD, a moderate stutter as well as other executive and fine motor skills functional challenges. As a result of this I have lived experience with understanding the needs and challenges that these children and their families face. I will be incorporating my learnt and lived knowledge and art therapy practices into the workshops, which will often involve everyday art and crafts to foster dexterity, fine and gross motor skills and encouraging social skills and interaction through participation in a small group setting which includes creative expression. Workshops will have a maximum of 6 participants at one time at this stage, this is so the environment will not be too overwhelming for those with sensory aversions and social communication difficulties, of course non NDIS children are more than welcome. Art therapy I feel is essential to EVERYONE. I will also be dedicating one day per week to travel to work with some children/families who may not be in a position to attend a structured workshop. Workshops will initially run for 1.5 - 2 hours depending on the activity to allow enough time to finish the workshop for the day. Cost will cover all supplies, time and of course all children will take home their creations. Some examples of some activities will be making our own worry dolls, sculpture, polymer clay jewellery, candle making, what colours in painting represent our feelings, beeswax wrap making (I have been making these for years and have a proper workstation) along with so many more things. Cost can be claimed through NDIS as support work or under ‘individual skills development’. I would like all to be able to participate so message me about cost if it’s a problem for you. It would be good to have regular weekly participants for consistency and to foster relationships and ongoing creative expression. My goal is for the environment to always be empowering and encouraging with each child leaving knowing something that i really loved and enjoyed about my time with them, how capable and amazing they are and hopefully always with a smile on their face. Message me to have your name put down for the workshop/craft and art sessions. I of course have a police check, working with children check. NDIS check and public liability insurance and so forth.

Workshops will be run at this stage on….
Mondays - 10am for pre school aged children.
Mondays 4:00pm for school aged children.

Fridays 10am- preschool aged children.
Fridays 4:00pm for school aged children.

Tuesdays I will be mobile to do a few children or teens who are unable to attend due to mobility issues or other reasons.

I appreciate you all 🌈💕

P.S I will eventually be branching into adult workshops that entail, beeswax wraps making, resin art and polymer clay jewellery making, candle making etc…Stay tuned!

I have included a link explaining a little how art can be therapeutic for kids and it’s not all about painting pictures of feelings but creative expression in itself is therapy. Often people say “but it’s just arts and crafts” the link explains how this is not the case.
